Terahertz stand-off explosives detection system |
The TeraView stand-off explosives detection system is designed to interrogate a potential target and both detect and identify energetic materials using the company's proprietary 'fingerprinting' capability.
The system consists of a custom stand-off detection module interfaced to TeraView's TPS pulsed spectrometer platform (TPS spectra 3000). The remote module is connected to the spectrometer using a flexible umbilical for ease of use, system mobility and flexible sampling. It is designed to operate in laboratory environments with minimal end user intervention when in routine use.
Applications include:
- Laboratory evaluation of terahertz spectroscopy and imaging for stand-off detection and identification of explosives and hidden weapons
- Characterisation of explosives and confusion materials using specular and diffuse reflectance/transmission
- Wide variety of other uses across the physical and life sciences sectors
- Provides the capability to evaluate THz spectroscopy of gases
TeraView is also actively engaged in both internal and external research programs to support its homeland security and defense initiatives. |
